This new solo album release from KATALYST‘s Pianist/Keyboardist, Brandon Cordoba entitled Black Diamonds, is a blend between soulful r&b, old school hip-hop, and a fusion of classic and modern jazz.

Here’s a link to listen to the groovin’ first single from the album, which is called “Luv Me Like You Mean It” below:
Originally released on February 12th, 2016 BLACKdiamonds, a new album by Brandon Cordoba, is a collection of instrumental beats, inspired by R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Soul. Since Brandon does not feature any accompanying vocals, in the form of singers or rappers, the album takes the listener on a journey with each song, using only the music itself. BLACKdiamonds draws heavily from the retro sounds of the 70’s and 80’s, heavily using the sounds of vintage synthesizers, while blending with the influences of the Hip-Hop & R&B of the 90’s through today. This album is for those who want to sing and rap to, dance, listen while on the road, or even just vibe to with friends or alone.
Brandon Cordoba is a Los Angeles based pianist and producer. Starting in his early teens, he has diligently developed and honed his craft. An alumn of the USC Thornton School of Music, he is continuously pursuing new and exciting musical territory. He is influenced by several genres, including Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, Gospel, Classical, and more. He has had the pleasure of performing with and producing for several bands and artists in the greater Los Angeles and beyond. Look forward to hearing numerous solo projects from Brandon, as well as collaborations in the near feature.
The album can be streamed and purchased on BANDCAMP, and is available on all major online music retailers, including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and more.
If you’re not in the know, then let me help to get you there! Just featured a few weeks ago on Flagrant City, debuting their new hit single “Stay”, these two lovely ladies Nick and Navi, have just unleashed the remix to this track earlier this week, which is produced by Brandon Cordoba who plays Keyboard/Piano for the Inglewood-based Modern Jazz Ensemble, KATALYST!

The FC loves these lovely ladies, Nick And Navi, formerly known as Perfect Harmony (PH2)! We featured the ladies back in 2013 and 2014, with their hit single “Dance Tonight.” This happened shortly after I (Lowe) first met Nickema through my Godbrother Greg Paul Webster, who drums for the contemporary jazz ensemble, KATALYST, in Inglewood one night for a jam session / rehearsal of sorts.
Since then the ladies have been cooking up new music, modeling and branding all over Los Angeles! Twin takeover! Watch their latest visual “Stay” below and keep up with the ladies on Instagram/ Twitter @NickAndNavi!
Last night in Santa Monica, CA, Venzella Joy put together an amazing release show for her latest project, the Hollywood Nights EP! The KATALYST Kats opened up the show, and the modern jazz ensemble had the crowd engaged!
After that, Dwayne Wright brought out special guest Karina Pasian whose sultry voice stole my heart.

Then the show host Goo Goo got the DJ to rock out some trap/ratchet hits, as a brief intermission before the Woman of the Hour, Venzella Joy, took the stage herself, with some of the KATs behind her. Check out some exclusive footage from the evening below!
